Management Accountant
Overview
We are looking for a diligent management accountant to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us as we continue to grow our thriving business.
As a management accountant, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and reporting financial information to help the company's leadership team make informed decisions, playing a key role in the company's strategic planning and growth.
Responsibilities
- Financial reporting
- Prepare and present internal financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data reported to management.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews to assess financial performance against targets.
- Cost variance analysis
- Analyse costs related to operations and projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs to budgeted figures and provide recommendations for cost control.
- Support pricing strategies by analysing cost structures and profitability margins.
- Performance Management
- Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of various business units.
- Work with department heads to improve financial performance and achieve budgetary goals.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and performance improvements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts, adjusting for changes in business conditions.
- Monitor budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and analysis.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Management and completion of VAT returns.
- Management and completion of the year-end audit.
Requirements
- Qualifications such as AAT or partial AAT.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Proficient with accounting software, namely Xero.
- Double entry bookkeeping.
- Advanced IT skills, including strong experience with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- High level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of the business environment and how financial management supports strategic goals.
- Confident communicator by phone and email.
- Good time management.
- Clean DBS check.
