ABB Robotics has partnered with Canadian cloud-based robotics developer Vention to bring collaborative robot (cobot) automation to small and medium-sized manufacturers.

Through this collaboration, ABB's GoFa cobots will integrate with Vention's Manufacturing Automation Platform, providing users with a unified solution for design, programming, operations monitoring, and remote support.

This partnership aims to expand the adoption of ABB's GoFa cobots, which are designed to work safely alongside humans in tasks such as assembly, material handling, and inspection.

The collaboration also seeks to simplify robotic automation for DIY automation users, enabling easy integration of cobot technology from design to operation.

Etienne Lacroix, CEO of Vention, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration:

"ABB and Vention have a multi-year track record of collaboration across Europe and North America, spanning multiple business areas from electrification to robotics and discrete automation."

Andrea Cassoni, head of collaborative robots at ABB Robotics, added:

"Partnering with Vention represents a significant step forward for both companies. By merging our hardware and software capabilities, we are making robotic automation more accessible and easier to integrate for businesses of all sizes. Our joint efforts will address key industry trends and help companies improve their operations, making workplaces safer and more efficient."

Vention's Manufacturing Automation Platform enables users to design, automate, deploy, and operate automated equipment directly from a web browser.

ABB's cobots, with payload capacities ranging from 5 to 12kg, will soon be available on Vention's marketplace, providing companies of all sizes with an accessible path to integrate advanced automation solutions.
